Mahakala is actually the best-known mask, which is offered in different versions in Bhutan. With its long teeth, the piercing eyes and the skulls it spreads fear. Mahakala goes back to a divine protective being that guards you from evil. Mask dancers in Bhutan wear this type of mask in different colours and designs for different ritual dances.
